“Der von 1996 bis 2001 in Carrara (Italien) lebende Bildhauer ist inzwischen unterwegs auf einer weltumfassenden, kreativen Odyssee. An verschiedensten Wirkungsstätten in Europa, Australien, den USA und Neuseeland arbeitete er Ăźberwiegend mit den lokalen anstehenden Gesteinen. Seit FrĂźhling 2014 feiert er seine Widerkehr nach Europa und seine Residenz in Graz. Hier erĂśffnen sich aus der Zusammenarbeit mit „Stein und Grein“ neue Materialien wie Granit aus der ganzen Welt und verschiedene Arten von Marmor…

FĂźr Timothy Mark symbolisiert Stein buchstäblich die Erde. Stein als plastisches Mittel bietet dem Publikum die MĂśglichkeit, mit der sichtbaren und spĂźrbaren Entstehungskraft der Erde mitgerissen zu werden. Durch eine kräftige, kompromisslose Formsprache entblößt der Stein die Welt in permanente Spannung zwischen ZerstĂśrung und Wiedergeburt, Gewalt und Zärtlichkeit; erzählt Ăźber die Entstehung der Kontinente, die genauso wie die Entstehung der Menschheit aus einer Einheit auseinandergedriftet sind und niemals aufgehĂśrt haben, sich zu bewegen. Das Betrachten und gar BerĂźhren (respektvolles BerĂźhren ist erlaubt!) der Skulpturen macht eine irdische als auch eine menschliche Wiedervereinigung in Harmonie erlebbar.”

2014 • Contracted by Selwyn District (New Zealand) to design playground sculpture representing a macroscopic vision of the microscopic world

2013 • Grant Recipient from the City of Christchurch (New Zealand): design and installation of multifunctional, portable arts centre prototype, ‘Pentagon Arts Pavilion‘ for a one month period, coordination of a public arts workshop and performance program. This was a Christchurch ‘Transitional City’ program assisting in revitalizing the city centre and rebuilding the Arts Sector following devastation of the city by a major earthquake in 2011

2012 • Author of grant received by Creative New Zealand on behalf of the Russian Children’s Cultural Festival, Christchurch, New Zealand
